Plain English, no surprises. Here's what we collect, what we do with it, and how to get it gone if you want it gone.

Who this covers

Speed Mating collects a small amount of personal information from three groups of people:

• Daters — people attending a Speed Mating night.
• Hosts — people running a Speed Mating night at a venue.
• Venues and enquirers — pubs, bars, and venue contacts who get in touch about hosting.

What we collect, and why

If you're a dater

When you check into a night, we ask for your first name, mobile number, and email address. We use these for one thing: to tell you who you matched with the next morning. Your phone number is shared with people you mutually matched with, so you can actually meet up.

If you didn't match with anyone, we email you a kind note rather than just disappearing.

If you're a host

When you set up a night in the app, we collect your name, email, and phone number so we can support you, send you assets, and contact you about the event.

If you're a venue or enquirer

If you fill in the contact form on speedmating.co about hosting, we keep your name, email, and venue details so we can reply and have a chat. Nothing fancier than that.

Where it lives

Most data lives inside the Speed Mating app on the host's device for the night. Match emails go through Resend, an email service. Venue enquiries land in our inbox. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with anyone for marketing purposes — full stop.

How long we keep it

• Dater details — kept until match emails go out, then for up to 90 days in case there's a deletion or follow-up question, then deleted.
• Host details — kept while you're actively running events, plus a year after your last event.
• Venue enquiries — kept until we've replied and either you become a host (see above) or we both decide it's not a fit. We delete enquiries we haven't moved forward on within 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what data we hold about you.
• Correct anything that's wrong.
• Delete your data entirely.
• Stop processing it.

Just email us — details below. We'll get it sorted within 30 days, usually much faster.

Cookies and tracking

The app uses your browser's local storage to remember event state during a night. The marketing site has no third-party tracking or advertising cookies. If we ever add analytics, we'll update this page first.

Kids

Speed Mating is for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes meaningfully, the date at the top of the page changes too. Big changes get an email if we have a reasonable way to reach you.
